Windows alternative and … is not from Linux world

Looking throw new operating systems yesterday I found something very surprising. A alfa release of a new operating system named ReactOS.

You will ask what is so surprising on this? This ReactOS is a free open source alternative to Windows and his kernel is based on NT kernel witch is used on Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista and now in Windows 7.

ReactOS team have something wonderful in mind, to give Windows comunity a free operating source witch support every application you can download and use now just in Windows.

You can try the new Alpha release of ReactOS in your machine or in a virtual machine but attention it is just a Alpha version and it need much more time to grow in a real OS.

and … play Unreal tournament

VMWare it is one of the best virtual machine enviroment. It work on windows and linux and can host various operating systems as guest.

There is a tool named VMWare player witch is free. What it can not do is to create a new virtual machine. But it can “play” an existing one, with all his features and where you can work with various OS, and install others.

To create a free virtual machine you have two posibilities. One is to buy from vmware.com whole package or to enter to easyvmx.com and create a new virtual machine for free witch you can play it in your free vmware player.

What os you can simulate width VMWare player: MSDOS, Windows (3.1, 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista), Linux (Red Hat, Novell, Suse, ubuntu, Mandrake, Mandriva, Free BSD, Sun Solaris), Apple Darwin, etc.
